New Member Nomination

2024 - 2025 Program Year (Due JULY 23, 2024)

Below is the new member nomination form. If you wish to nominate an attorney for membership in the Inn, please complete this form by Tuesday, July 23, 2024. A few process notes:

  • Each current member in good standing may nominate one prospective new member. New Pupil members (currently enrolled law students) will be nominated through a separate process and should not be nominated using the form below.

  • Inns of Court focus on the development of mentoring, civility, and ethics in a collegial setting.  In order to achieve these objectives, membership is limited.  The Honorable Charles Pannell, Jr. IP Inn of Court is open to selected attorneys, judges, law clerks, legal academics and law students in the Atlanta region who are proven or potential leaders in the Intellectual Property Bar.  Nominations are subject to review and evaluation by the Executive Committee.  Additional criteria such as balance in the number of Masters of the Bench, Barristers, and Associates, as well as diversity, are also taken into consideration.  Invitations to selected nominees will be extended later this summer.  We will notify you if your nominee was not selected for membership.

  • Provide your nominee with a link to the nomination form to assist you in completing the requested information.  The ‘Additional Comments’ section of the nomination form can be used to identify the candidate’s area of IP interest (e.g., litigation, transactional, prosecution, patent, copyright, trademark) or provide other information that you or the candidate believe may be relevant to the Executive Committee’s consideration. Please also specify if the nominee has attended a meeting as a guest.

  • You should discuss Membership requirements with your candidate prior to nomination.  Requirements include attending at least 4 meetings, which are held in September, October, November, February, March, April, and May, participating in the assigned Pupilage Group and Cadre (Mentoring) Group, and paying the applicable membership dues.  Please do not submit nominations for a candidate that will not be able to meet the Membership requirements. Membership dues are:

    • $378 Master of the Bench (graduated from law school in 2004 or earlier)

    • $303 Barrister (graduated from law school from 2005 to 2014)

    • $203 Associate (graduated from law school in 2015 or later)

    • $128 Government Attorney, Judicial Clerk, or Legal Academic
